As your birth doula I offer the following services;

*Free consultation visit

The initial consultation is to meet and discuss my services and fees.
This meeting is of no cost to you.

* Two pre-natal visits

I prefer to meet with you and your partner at least one time before labor to become better acquainted, to explore and discuss your priorities and any fears or concerns, and to plan how we might best work together.  I will want to become familiar with your Birth Plan, including your preferences regarding management options and the use of pain medications.
I can also assist in preparing a Birth Plan if you don't already have one.
I'll share information and printed handouts, which are yours to keep and look over with your partner.

We may also decide on other meetings and will certainly want to remain in touch by telephone as needed and desired.
I will be available 24 hours a day for retained clients and I will make sure that my clients have a reliable method to reach me.

* Labor/childbirth support

It will be up to the client to decide when she would like me to join her once labor has begun. Some women prefer support at home, before they need to go to the hospital. Some women will request that we meet at the hospital. Other women prefer to give birth at home, as a planned home birth.
I will remain with you throughout labor and birth and I will usually stay with you for one or two hours after the birth, until you are comfortable and your family is ready for quiet time. I can also help with breastfeeding, if necessary.

* One or more post-partum visits to your home and/or hospital

During the post-partum visits I check on how my clients are doing, review the birth together, admire the baby (:-), and attend to needs such as breastfeeding success. I can provide references and resources, if needed.

*I might even have the opportunity do some light housework to help out the new mother at home!*

A written account of your birth

A birth story written by me for you, to preserve the memory of your childbirth.
